1. The Northwest Arctic community of Kotzebue is starting recovery efforts after this week’s coastal storm triggered widespread flooding that devastated the town and displaced at least 80 people.
2. Despite this week’s unseasonably mild temperatures, winter is coming. And when it does, life will get much harder for people who live on the streets in Alaska.
3. The Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly will certify its municipal election results tonight and swear-in the new mayor and three Assembly members.
4. Juneau-based writer Vera Starbard will be Alaska’s next state writer laureate. She'll be honored Tuesday at the 2024 Governor’s Arts and Humanities Awards in Anchorage.
